How do inventory markups work?
Go to Settings›Inventory›Markups, click an inventory type, enter a markup percentage and click Save. IndusTrack then calculates the Sales Price of every item of that type by adding the markup to the item's cost.
Set a markup
-
Go to Settings›Inventory›Markups.
-
Click an inventory type to open its markup settings. There are five inventory types: Inventory, Non-inventory, Service, Assembly and Equipment.
-
In the pop-up, enter the markup percentage for that type.
-
Click Save. A warning tells you the markup applies to all items of that type, including items that already have a sales price. Click Yes to confirm.
-
Repeat for other types if you need to.

How it works
- IndusTrack calculates the Sales Price of each item by applying the markup percentage to the item's Cost.
- A new item added without a sales price gets one calculated from the markup.
- You can change an item's price by hand afterwards.
Common questions
Will saving a markup change prices I've already set?
Yes. Saving a markup overwrites the sales price of every item of that type, including items that already have a price.
Is this the same as the PriceBook markup?
No. PriceBook markups and membership discounts are a separate setting in Settings›PriceBooks›Markups and apply only to PriceBook assemblies (flat rates). See How do I set up my pricebook?
